The Multimedia Classroom: Computer Technologies for Learning is meant to be a hands-on, practical introduction to developing and demonstrating multimedia and web-based applications for use in the classroom. The course may be taken for undergraduate or graduate credit through Eastern Oregon University.
At the end of 10 weeks, students will:
- Assess multimedia technologies available to them in their educational organization
- Be familiar with grade level technology abilities
- Research web based projects for classroom application
- Develop and demonstrate lessons using multimedia and web-based technologies

Undergraduate and Graduate Assignment
- Research Internet sites for lesson materials related to the multimedia classroom. Share the three best sites with classmates and demonstrate how they might be used in a lesson plan.
- Try out 5 pieces of multimedia software for use in the classroom. Evaluate appropriateness and design interface for children for the rest of the class.
- Write 3 2-page focus papers on topics of concern, such as student accessibility to computers, teacher professional development in technology, and parent and community support for technology.
Graduate Assignments
- Demonstrate 2 multimedia classroom topics out of the following 4: Science, Math, Art, Music, Language Arts, Social Studies.
- Collaborate with a classmate, another class, or another school in a web-based classroom project.
