Week 3: Word Processing and Desktop Publishing
For many computer users, computer use is limited to word processing. Word processing does not require many system resources and a number of software programs are feature-laden to the extent that some features will never be used!
What is becoming apparent is that children, both young children and older teens, are more likely to experiment and feel comfortable with computer technologies than are their elders. Children often find computers appealing when used in research and drill, and they may often prefer computer software to paper and pencil learning. Teachers who can take advantage of the natural affinity for computers will find creative and endless uses for both software applications, multimedia equipment and web-based homework helps and homework posting sites.
