Week 10: Internet and Collaborative Education
One of the unforeseen benefits of the Internet classroom is the ability of class members to contact one another and collaborate in learning across wide geographical areas. Email, interactive websites, and video conferencing are becoming more common as the "wired" classroom gains acceptance. Students become aware of the wider world and the fact that there are other students like themselves learning similar things. Educational software is increasingly Internet-connected, and some software sites are located entirely online. Site licenses are usually less expensive, and information is updated daily.
- What kind of Internet software might be useful in a classroom situation?
- How is collaboration between teachers and organization a benefit?
- How might a collaborative environment be set up between classes?
- Why would collaboration between students be useful?
