Video Modes

Even inexpensive digital cameras come with video mode. Video mode records an actual digital video clip that can be viewed in .avi (video) or .mov (Quicktime) file formats.

Higher priced cameras will also include sound. Some cameras limit video to 30 seconds while others allow the video to continue until all memory is used up. Usually, video size is limited to certain dimensions, and taking pictures in video mode may not allow zooming or flash. Of course, the quality will not be as good as a regular digital video camera.
