Organizing software Below are listed both commercial and some freeware organizing, album and gallery software. This type of software is often bundled with digital cameras. It is the most useful for digital camera owners, since it is not as complicated as commercial editing software and also contains organizers that show you where your pictures are, while allowing you to do simple edits where needed. Newer versions of some titles also include CD burning options. Picasa from Google is an especially good value, nicely designed, completely free software.Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 - highly rated, this program includes some of Photoshop's powerful photo editing filters and effects, while incorporating the Photoshop Album cataloguing and organizing software so you can find your images. It also can burn to CD and DVD.
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition - . Starter Edition is still a wonderful limited edition program of Photoshop Elements. Good for downloading, organizing, simple crop & redeye, slideshow, resizing images for emailing:
Jasc Paint Shop Pro Album - another very nicely done photo album, complete with photo editing, edges, frames, scrapbooking ideas and CD burning tools. Jasc is now a subsidiary of Corel.
Microsoft Digital Imaging Suite - especially for digital cameras - organize, edit, create & share.
ACDSee7 - View, organize, burn, share, create slideshows with this popular & fast viewer. You can get earlier versions of ACDSee here
Picasa freeware download from Google. Organizes and does simple editing, prints, emails, and burns CDs. An elegant, very useful software. Picasa's attempts to access a remote server may cause problems on a network.
Cam2PC freeware- Download pictures from your digital camera, organize into albums, create a slideshow, convert to other formats, resize for email, and print contact sheets. Also available in a shareware version.
HP Image Zone Express freeware - View, fix, print in album pages, share via email, order prints, online gallery.
Faststone Image Viewer freeware - One of the best for browsing and resizing.
Kodak Easyshare freeware downloads photos automatically from USB cable or card reader, organizes, does retouching and slideshows. You will have to register with Kodak in order to download. The download is actually a pre-installer program which then downloads and installs the rest of the program into your computer

FX Foto - This is especially good as an image viewer and organizer that also has functions to crop, resize, enhance color and add edges and text to your photos. The collage and slide show features are disabled in the Standard edition.
