D. What size camera do you prefer?_____ 1. A camera that will fit in a pocket
_____ 2. A camera that fits in a waist pack or purse
_____ 3. A camera with it own carrying case and extra lenses
Camera sizeThe size and weight of the camera will usually reflect its ease of use —pocket-sized cameras will most likely have fewer features and weigh less than the more expensive prosumer and professional SLR models, which can be quite bulky. An exception to this statement is when quality cameras are not only smaller but more expensive than standard size, without loss of features.
If lens quality is something you want, a small camera may not measure up to the larger ones. But if a smaller size means you are more likely to take it with you, by all means take a look at smaller cameras.
Manufacturers tend to have recognizable body styles, for example, Canons tend to be bigger, heavier cameras, while Nikons are smaller and lighter; Panasonic has gone to a lightweight aluminum body, while Olympus produces pocket-size, waterproof cameras with advanced features.
