Setup functions
Other than basic functions such as reviewing and deleting your photos, you can perform a "Setup" configuration using the LCD menu screen and the Setup button, located on the main knob or its own setup button. The setup functions usually include the following:
Depending on the megapixel capacity of your camera, you can choose smaller size and lower quality pictures for email and web page functions. Smaller pictures take up less room on the memory card, but print quality is generally low. The first setup screen allows you to set the date. You can also set brightness and sound for video. If your camera tends to shut itself off to early for your taste, you can change that setting. Settings are available for foreign languages. If you need to revert to default settings, change battery type, or check the firmware version of your camera, you can do that too. Other important menus are the shooting menu, which allows you to change the image mode, the white balance, and add or subtract from your exposure settings. White balance, from the Shooting Menu, helps compensate for color casts in incandescent and fluorescent light that our eyes naturally make changes for.
