How big is my picture, anyway?
How to tell the dimensions of your picture? Navigate to the picture on your hard drive, right click on it and go down to Properties, and it will tell you how many kilobytes are in the picture. (A picture sent by email that isn't meant to be printed should be about 250 kb or less.)

Or if you have Windows XP, just hover the mouse over the picture and it will show you the dimensions.

With Irfan Viewer, (free download at http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm), open the picture and go to Image/Information and you will be given all the information you may need:
