Brochures

Brochures are usually three-fold newsletter-type documents that present information about a topic. You can create a brochure in a word processor or in desktop publishing programs such as Microsoft Publisher, Adobe PageMaker or Serif Page Plus. Remember that a tri-fold will produce six narrow sections to fill with information text and graphics.

Plan out your brochure before you start. Use a blank tri-fold sheet of paper and sketch out where your heading, text boxes, and graphic images. This will make your next steps much easier.

Your assignment is to create a tri-fold brochure for parents that includes text and clip art. Describe your literacy program in your classroom through the brochure. What would parents expect to see in your room relative to reading and writing? Choose one of the following methods for making the brochure.

1. To make a brochure in Microsoft Word or Wordperfect, download one of the following document templates. The information on the brochures cover what you need to do in order to convert it into your own. The templates include the front and back for printing, arranged in a three-column style.
